1) Charles Howell III or tie vs Camilo Villegas
In round 1 Howell shot one under, including 2 under on the front 9. Villegas shot four over, with four over on the front nine as well. Villegas has not been under par in his last 8 rounds, whereas Howell has shot under in 3 of his last 5. Villegas averages slightly more birdies/round 3.69 vs 3.43, and is slightly the better putter 1.753 vs 1.770. Howell did very well at the St. Jude classic last year placing 3rd, he has 5 straight rounds under par there. Villegas tied Howell in third last year, so his 4 over par comes as a surprise. I'll take Howell because I think they're fairly even golfers, and Howell has the tie option.
2) Greece or draw vs Poland
Greece did well in both of its friendlys before this match, drawing Slovenia and beating Armenia. Poland beat Latvia, Slovakia, and Andorra in its previous three games leading up to the European cup. Poland was drawn in the first group of teams because they are co-hosts. Greece was in the 3rd pot along with Portugal etc. I think Greece is able to hang on for at least a draw in the opening match.
3) Russia vs Czech Republic or draw
The Russians hadn't been doing anything special in friendlys until they blew the pants of the Italians 3-0 last week. Czech Republic didn't do anything, losing to Hungary and beating Israel. This one is a pretty big toss up, but I'll take Czech Republic to stay in this one and get a draw.
EDIT: 4) AOR vs USA 4+
Went AOR, sorry for no write up.
5) Texas Rangers vs San Francisco Giants
Taking the Rangers on SFTC has been poison. I don't have an exact record, but I know for some reason they do very poorly when they are on here. So what do I do? Take them again! Harrison's 7-3 record has nothing to do with good pitching (4.37 ERA, nothing special) It's because the Rangers are 1st in the majors in runs, batting average, slugging pct, on base pct, etc. They are by far the best hitting team in the majors. Zito is sitting on a 2.98 ERA this year and had a very good last outing against the Cubs pitching eight shutout innings. However, he hasn't faced very good compeition battingwise this season Cubs 27th in runs, Arizona 19th, Milwaukee 14th, Oakland 28th, Arizona again, Dodgers 10th, Miami 24th, Cincinnati 21st, Mets 9th, Pittsburgh 30th. He only had 3 outings against teams in the top half of the majors, and in those outings, 4 ER in 3 innings vs Milwaukee, 3 ER in 6 innings vs Dodgers, and 2 ER in 5 innnigs vs the Mets. Not too special of numbers. The Giants are 20th in the league in runs scored which worries me as well. I'll take the Rangers and their amazing lineup.
