1) Zimbabwe or draw vs Mozambique
I wonder how many people will go AOR in the Nadal match not realizing how strong Nadal is on clay and just seeing Djokivic is #1. Zimbabwe's all-time record against Mozambique is 9-5-1. They've only lost to Mozambique once ever. Both teams lost their first game in the group stage for World Cup qualification. I'll take Zimbabwe to get at least a draw in this one.
2) Spain vs Italy or draw
Took Spain, ewww Torres is bad.
3) Oakland A's vs Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona has been on fire lately, they've won six of their last seven. For the last game of the series they send Saunders to the mound, who has a 3.65 ERA this season. The A's will try to prevent the sweep with Blackley who only has 10 starts in his major league career. He's sort of a reliever so he probably won't go very deep. However, Oakland does rank 7th in bullpen ERA at 2.97, which is much better than the Dbacks 3.79. He gave up 5 runs to the Rangers in 4 and 2/3 innings, but did well against the Twins with only one run allowed in 5 innings. Arizona is ranked 18th in runs in the majors which is 44 runs better than 28th placed Oakland. I'll take the Dbacks to put a few runs on the board early and Saunders goes deep to give them the win in this one.
4) Run in the 1st?
Just like the Rangers two nights ago, this prop always seems to go wrong for me. Bailey has a 4.39 ERA this season and has allowed a run in the 1st in 3 of his 11 starts. Smyly has an ERA of 3.71 this season and has allowed a run in the 1st in 5 of his 11 starts. The Reds are ranked 22nd in the majors in runs scored, and the Tigers are ranked 15th. However, both teams are tied for 9th in runs scored in the first, with 38 each. In Detroit's last 90 innings, (last 10 games not including extra innings) a run has been scored for or against them 43 times. In Cincinnati's last 90 innings, a run has been scored for or against them 44 times. This prop is basically a toss up, but I'll take a run in the 1st, note what a big tossup this prop is though.
5) More hits innings 4-6? Reds or tie vs Detroit?
Again, I don't recall seeing this prop ever go to the team without the tie option. Bailey has given up 69 hits in 65 and 2/3 innings. Smyly has given up 59 hits in 60 and 2/3 innings. My biggest concern is that the Reds are 25th in the majors in hits, 50 hits behind Detroit. I don't think that can be ignored for this prop. It will depend on where both teams are in the lineup in the 4th, but I'm slightly leaning toward Detroit.
6) XBH in the 8th?
Depends on where both teams are in the lineup and who is pitching, but I always like no.
