August 3rd

1. US to win by 3+ goals vs AOR
Have to go with New Zealand in this one, the US has only won 1 game by 3 or more and NZ hasn't lost any by that margin.  They even hung in and only lost to Brazil 1-0, which is the US's main competition for gold.  If NZ nets one it'll definitely go AOR, but I think 1-0 or 2-0 is also possible.

2. Which team will advance? Brazil vs Japan
Brazil hasn't looked incredibly superior this tournament, 2 wins and 1 loss so far, but Japan has only scored in one game so far, a 2-1 win over Canada, granted that was also the only goal they gave up.  I'll take Brazil's attacking talent over a defense first team any day.

3. What country will win gold? Brazil vs AOC
Definitely taking Brazil here.  Though it'll probably come down to Cielo (BRA) vs Jones (US), with Brazil you also get Fratus thrown in as well.  Cielo was nudged out by Jones by less than a hundredth in the semis, with Fratus winning the other heat, although .09 slower than Jones/Cielo.  Ervin (US) could also be thrown into contention, he was .01 faster than Fratus. Almost guarantee it'll be one of these three, probably within a hundreth or two, but I'll take Cielo and Brazil.

4. US 30+ vs AOR

So far this tournament, the US has beaten Croatia by 25, Angola by 52, and Turkey by 31 for a 3-0 record.  Czech Republic lost to China by 9, Turkey by 4, and beat Croatia by 19.  If you take out the loss to Turkey, the Czech Republic's results would suggest they could hold this under 30.  (China's won every game by 20 or more except their match with Czech Republic) However, that loss worries me.  These two teams met in the 2010 FIBA World Championships and that resulted in a 20 point US win.  I'm going to go AOR, but this seems to be a toss up.

5. 27 or more vs 26 or fewer
Last time these two teams met, I believe it was week 2, they combined for 30 points in the first half.  Neither team does very well defensively. Winnipeg gives up 32.5 pts/game, and Montreal gives up 32.4 pts/game.  While Winnipeg has the worst offense in the league, they did fairly well against the league's #1 defense Edmonton last week, scoring 23 against a team that's only given up 79 points all year (5 games). Alex Brink (WPG QB) looked much better last week in that game and Camillo (Mon QB) leads the league in passing yards.  I'll take more.

6. Toronto vs Oakland
Normally I'm weary of rookie pitchers being brought up, but Straily should do fine, and being matched against Cecil (5.56 ERA) I think he's the better of the two pitchers.  Not too fond of going against the #5 offense in the majors, but I'll take Oakland
